"Souls’ breath" it’s the title of the sculpture’s exhibit by Novello Finotti, which wanted to prepare it in front of the Sant’Anna’s Church - just the point where the slaughter happened - during the celebrations of the 60° Anniversary of the slaughter, as strong recalls to remember.
Through his creations, the sculptor makes himself spokesman of a message of life and a warning against the violence. The works, among the most known creations of the artist from Verona, in granite, marble and bronze, represent a path of reflection on the "tragic" memory, but also an intimate dialogue with the past and the present, a splendid synthesis of the thought and the artistic experience of the sculptor. The show, organized by the association Martyrs of Sant’ Anna, with contributions of the bank "Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca", the municipality of Pietrasanta and the bank "Credito Cooperativo della Versilia e Lunigiana", remained in exposure until the end of October.
The teacher Novello Finotti, after the show, has decided to give a sculpture to Sant’Anna, as an indelible trace in memory of the Nazi slaughter of the ’44. The work, "Pietas - bronze 2004", has been inaugurated the August 12 th 2005, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 61° Anniversary of the slaughter, and it is set on the church square of the country, entering to be a part of the national Park of Peace.
