Since 1982 the Committee for the Honors to the Martyrs of Sant’Anna organizes a literary prize which is reserved to literary works about the struggles of the people for the peace, the disarmament, the liberty, the democracy and the tolerance.
The Prize is usually divided in 3 sections :
SECTION n°1 - Didactic experiences: it’s reserved to national state junior high schools’ literary works.
SECTION N°2 - Meeting of research: it’s reserved to about 30 young students, coming from Tuscan senior high schools or from city which are historically or morally tied with Sant’Anna di Stazzema. During two days of research, they face a remarkable interest’s matter discussing, and comparing themselves, with chairmen and intellectuals. At the end the students have to write an essay about the matter which they have been considering; they have to elaborate the acquired notions through their own opinions beside to put critical references. The best essay is rewarded.
SECTION N°3 - Literary prize: an expert jury awards a prize to meaningful and deserving literary works which were published in Italy the preceding year.
The chairmen and the jurors which have been participating at the last editions are:
Christiane Kohl, "Süddeutsche Zeitung" correspondent in Rome;
Bgill Klaus "Süddeutsche Zeitung" head editor in Rome
and the professors
Michele Luzzati and Adriano Prosperi (University of Pisa),
Marco Palla (University of Florence)
and Mr. Roberto Filippini (Jagerstatter group of Pisa).
